  • Historian Volunteer Opportunity: We were recently given some very old records dating back to the beginning of FISH Food Bank. The Fish Food Bank Committee has decided it would be great to have someone be our historian using these old records.  If you are interested in volunteering to take this on, please contact a Fish representative at FISHinfo@gorge.net.

FISH Mission Statement:

What is FISH Food Bank?

FISH is an all volunteer organization.  Ten local churches take turns opening the food bank each week providing groceries to those in need of one-time emergency or occasional food assistance.

How often can I come to FISH?

Our mission is to provide 3 days of emergency food once per month or about 12 times per year.

Who can come to FISH?

Anyone who lives in Hood River County needing food assistance can register at FISH. Your signature is required on a form in which you declare that your household income is at or below the eligible income levels, OR that you are currently participating in the Food Stamp Program, TANF, SSI, LIEAP or State General Assistance Program.

How do I register myself or my family?

Come to the food bank during the hours of operation and provide your name, date of birth, address, and names and ages of your family members.

Can shut-Ins have food delivered?

We may be able to provide monthly deliveries of food for shut-ins through a partnership with Faith In Action with a written referral from a local agency. Please call for additional information.
